What we believe
We could write pages and pages about what we believe. In this section we state some of our core beliefs and where in the Bible we get these beliefs from.

God is active
God is alive, he is active, and he regularly interacts with people.
Basis: It is hard to pinpoint a single Bible passage for this. The entire Bible is a record of God’s interactions with people. Two examples from the life of Paul are found in Acts 23:11 and 27:23-25.
Jesus died and rose again
Jesus died on the cross for our sins and came back to life again on the third day after his death. This is the central element of our faith.
Basis: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 11, 17.
Salvation through Christ alone
Salvation comes through Jesus alone. It is only through him that we enter God’s family.
Basis: John 1:12, Acts 4:12.
The Bible is inspired
The whole Bible is inspired by God and is useful to teach us how to follow him.
Basis: 1 Timothy 3:16-17.
Spiritual gifts are still available today
Prophecy (both predicting future events and conveying messages from God), gifts of healings, miracles, and other spiritual gifts have not ceased. These spiritual activities are still available for followers of Jesus, both women and men, to participate in today.
Basis: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 1 Corinthians 14:1, Acts 2:17, Acts 11:27-30, Acts 21:9-11.
God still speaks
God still communicates with his people in various ways (for example, through dreams, visions, and through thoughts and impressions in our hearts) but the communication we receive personally today does not have the same level of authority as the Bible.
Basis: In the context of receiving words of prophecy from another person, 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 tells the hearers to “test them all.” The requirement to test and discern which are good implies that such prophecies come with a considerably lower authority than the Bible.
